Shame we won't be able to either get out to Murtys (or Cardiff for that matter) for round 2. Should be a good match!

That was a bit of a mess of a match, but I don't think the scoreline is reflective of the match. Lots of errors from both sides. Hope Finlay and Dave Heff are alight after their HIAs. Cardiff worked well when they were down to 14, and they took their chances when they got them.

KM and JC working well together of course - hope them in Dublin see that. Thought the penalty try was a giveaway, but equally there was such a clear overlap it was going to be a try in any event.

We looked a bit wrecked in the closing stages. I wonder was the same day travel a factor?

@sol_ie as soon as I saw they were travelling on game day I thought that's an easy cardiff win, might seem reductive but combo of messing with players routines and not being good historically in cardiff made me feel it wasn't going to go out way.

In Fairness, Cardiff won the aerial battle hands down, regained possession and launched strike plays while the Connacht defence was still in scramble mode. They really fronted up in defence also constantly preventing Connacht decent line break opportunities and forcing them to go wide too early where they were well shepherded and both Carty's and Marmion's positional kicking was ineffective. The was a game ideally suited to powerful Abraham Papalii with his unique ability to carry ball, break the gain line almost at will and suck in multiple defenders to create holes for the Connacht Strike Runners to exploit.

So if he's not injured, why wasn't he playing ?? (Delahunt received the same sanction after the Munster game and was available to play)
