ya the main stand bars is ran ( no pun intended ) by the dog people. bord na gcon.
i enjoy going for a pint after the match and chat away with anyone i spot there, i find it good banter and you'd be surprised what you could learn from chats or over heard.
clan bar is open before during and after the match. i personaly think its not fair for only heineken but if they paid for it then no complain. fair is fair.
dont think dieago who run guinness were in to much hurry other wish that would of been a better deal as they own more drink ie guinness, budweiser and many more

Think the idea of the free pint is great and understand the reason for Hein in Clan Bar.
My barney was, that even if I drank Heineken, which I don’t, I could only get the free pint in the Clan Bar. Main enclosed stand serves the same Heineken but “free pint” token are not accepted there.

last year the clan bar only had heineken due to the reason heineken built the bar its self and gave free point each game. if there giving away a pint at the heineken cup again this year i cant see any other drink being sold there, id imagine that is in the contract.

What if you are a ST holder and don't drink Heineken. My ticket is in the enclosed stand, (bad knees and need a seat)had 6 of my free pint tickets left over this year (gave the others away)

Heineken Cup is returning to the Sportsground next season and Connacht Rugby are delighted to confirm that season ticket holders will be able to enjoy a free pint at each of the home pool games. The offer is running in conjunction with Heineken, the Official Beer of Connacht Rugby and the sponsors of the Heineken Cup, and is our way of thanking YOU, the fans for your loyal support throughout this past season.
Vouchers will be issues along with the season ticket packs in August

Easier to sell tickets to than a place on a terrace you have to elbow yourself to.

You're right about the approved plans being for a tier of about 800 seated patrons, but bear in mind that what has actually been built at the Sportsground is not what was contained in the approved planning submitted to Council Planning Office, it has extended beyond the original planned length considerably and retrospective planning approval is being sought as well as for the Clan Bar & Toilets and the West Stand.

So there is a slight possibility that Conor McGuinness may have confirmed different figures to him based on a revised plan. I would certainly think that we would be looking to get closer to 4000 on the Clubhouse side as it is the area currently best suited for development, B naGCon funded the Main stand which was not designed with Rugby in mind.

I've attached the designs from the planning application, easy enough to find on the Council Planning site - Application No File Number: 09136

Connolly. You should have used them two to get a 50% off your season ticket to help with the funds :)
