I thought that Nigel Owens got it right on that Kick i have to say. He said that he saw it go over the top of the Post and thats what it looked like on the replays.
Which in my vocab is wide

I remember two years ago there was a suggested trial of a technology attached to the cross bar that would signal if the kick was good, basically a series of lasers directing a beam straight up. Everyone complained it was a massive waste of money for problem that doesn't exist.
Like all problems, they're all worthless until the day it finally does exist.
True I remember a season or two ago when we drew with Ulster at the Sportsground that Ulster missed a drop-goal at the last min and Ulster boys going apoplectic. It actually was wide but I from my vantage on the clan stand would have sworn that the Ulster boys were right. Not that I complained on there behalf.

It's not possible to say if that kick was definitely wide or definitely in from a 2D TV screen.

Im actually unsure about this.
Its hard to see the true trajectory of the ball from the tv, best angle in the house is from where he kicked it. The replays show it pushing right, but you cant tell the point where it goes over the posts.
Still had thoughts that Fofanas try may have been awarded from the replays, crazier things have happened.

Lucky? Hardly methinks..
Denied a perfectly good kick by Owens (it was inside the posts as it crossed he bar), and that on top Kearney butchered a definite try for Fitzgerald which would have put Leinster out of sight. He was very lucky boy that it didn't come back to bite them in the ass, but apart from the last four minutes Leinster had Clermont in their pocket in the second half. Would have been a travesty if they had lost at the death and that's without my Connacht hat on. Would have been tough on Darcy to be the first player to get yellow, Clermont were hanging on for grim death for much of the second half...
I gotta disagree Sea-point. Firstly that kick was definitely wide. Secondly Cullen easily could ave gotten a yellow as well for raising his hands. Yes the Clermont prop totally dived etc but he should know better. Secondly Leinster were infringing a hell of a lot in the second half around the ruck. Also for the life of me don't know why Clermont took off Hines. Were Leinster the better team? Yes but if either Cullen or Darcy had gotten a yellow through acts of abject stupidity then it would have been a different score imo. Still they won and that's the important thing.
I also think both Irish teams got the rub of the green with refs this wknd. That said after Barnes performance at Ireland vs Wales he owed the Irish something.

Always best to look forward but it just goes to show what could have been achieved in times past and how untapped the market was for Connacht Rugby.
Anyway onwards and upwards, come on Ulster and Leinster for the weekend.

Would be unreal if we had an average of 6k at the matches next season.
What the good hell is happening our team? We're growing
Bloody Bandwagonners.... (legger...)
HEC rugby would see us back to same levels I believe, and a good draw will push us over the top...
Great to see people getting on board earlier and earlier, and equally so to see it communicated.

Rugby is the only professional sport in Ireland and will remain so for the foreseeable, so each of the provinces has a monopoly position in their respective regions. Handled right the sky's the limit.
I brought a friend of mine (German) and his daughter and daughter's friend to the Aironi match (on the free tickets from the 2011/12 season ticket). They've registered an interest for season tickets.
A few days before that, when I renewed my season ticket, my brother ("sure at that price I'd be mad not too") and brother-in-law got tickets also.
I'm as excited as you and really hopeful we've hit some critical-mass-type situation.
(BTW I hear Connacht are targeting 5K season tickets)
